Terms of Use

Last updated October 7, 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and the founder who runs Tileboo Kids ("we") for using Tileboo Kids. They are written for parents and guardians. Please read them with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your family's information.

By creating a family account or using Tileboo, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use Tileboo.

The short version

  • Tileboo is free during early access. Later, one Family Pass payment opens every build; nothing renews, and nothing is ever charged without your say-so.
  • Family accounts are for adults: a child's parent or legal guardian.
  • Children use Tileboo with a grown-up in charge. Magnetic tiles contain magnets: follow your tiles' age and safety instructions.
  • You can delete your family account at any time, in the grown-ups area.
  • Nothing here takes away your rights under the law where you live.

1. Who we are

Tileboo Kids is made and run by its founder, an independent developer based in Israel. You can reach us at privacy@tileboo.kids.

2. Who can use Tileboo

  • A family account can only be created by an adult (the age of majority where you live) who is the parent or legal guardian of the children who will use it.
  • Children use Tileboo on a family device, with an adult responsible for them. Children may not create accounts. If we learn that a child has, we delete the account.
  • You are responsible for your account. Keep your password and family PIN private, and tell us straight away if you think someone else has used them.
  • Before we save anything about your child, we ask for your consent by email, as our Privacy Policy explains.

3. Early access, and the Family Pass

Tileboo is in early access. It is free, and while it lasts we may improve, add or change features and builds as we learn what families enjoy.

  • The starter builds are free for everyone.
  • We may give some families every build free as early-access families. That applies for as long as we keep it on for your account.
  • Nothing can be bought during early access. A Family Pass we give you is free, has no cash value and can't be exchanged for money.
  • We may end early access or start charging. If we do, we'll email account holders at least 30 days before.

After early access, the way to open every build will be the Family Pass:

  • One payment. It opens every build in Tileboo on the day you buy it, plus every build we release in the next 12 months.
  • They don't expire: they stay open on every device you sign in on for as long as we run Tileboo (section 8 explains what happens if we ever close it). Nothing renews, we keep no card on file, and nothing is charged again unless you choose to buy another pass.
  • When the 12 months are up, the only change is that builds released after that are locked for you until you choose to buy another pass.
  • The price, any tax and your right to cancel are shown before you pay, under terms of sale we'll publish when checkout opens. A pass belongs to one family account and can't be transferred.

When early access ends:

  • Your account, your child's stars and your tile counts stay as they are.
  • The starter builds that are free for everyone stay free.
  • Builds a Family Pass includes stay open, and so do builds you opened one by one in an earlier version of Tileboo.
  • Builds that were open only because of early access are locked again.
  • Nothing is charged automatically. Paying for anything will always be your separate choice, under terms of sale we show you before you pay.

4. Building safely

Tileboo shows how to build with magnetic tiles you already own. We don't make, sell or check tiles, and we are not connected with any tile brand.

  • Magnetic tiles contain small, strong magnets. Swallowed magnets can cause serious injury. Follow the age grading, warnings and instructions that come with your tiles. Check them often for cracks or loose magnets, and stop using damaged tiles.
  • Supervise young children while they build. Tall and 3D builds can topple.
  • Build guides are for play. Your set's shapes, colors and counts may differ from what a guide shows, and magnets differ in strength between brands and weaken with age: a build that stands in one set may sag or fall in another. We can't promise that any build will hold with your tiles.

5. Using Tileboo fairly

Please don't:

  • Hack, overload or disrupt Tileboo, or try to get around the family PIN or other protections
  • Copy, scrape, sell or republish our build guides, pictures or app, beyond your family's own use. Printing a guide to build at home is fine.
  • Use Tileboo for a business without our written permission
  • Pretend to be someone else, or set up an account for a child who isn't yours
  • Break the law

If an account seriously or repeatedly breaks these rules, we may suspend or close it. Where we can, we'll tell you first, explain why, and let you respond.

6. Our content, and your ideas

Tileboo, its build guides, pictures, characters and software belong to us or to those who license them to us. We give you a personal, non-transferable permission to use them for your family's own, non-commercial use, for as long as you use Tileboo.

Tileboo has no place to post anything. If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them to improve Tileboo, without owing you anything for them. Please never send us your child's photos or personal details.

7. Your family's information

Our Privacy Policy explains what we keep, why, for how long, and how to have it deleted. In the grown-ups area you can download a copy of your family's data or delete your family account at any time.

8. Keeping Tileboo running

We work to keep Tileboo available and your family's information safe, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may update, change or stop features. If we ever decide to close Tileboo entirely, we'll email account holders at least 30 days before, and you'll be able to download your family's data before we delete it.

If you bought a Family Pass and we close Tileboo before its 12 months are up, we refund the part you haven't had: the price you paid, divided by the days in those 12 months, times the days left on the day Tileboo closes. For example, a pass bought 3 months before we close gets back about three quarters of its price. The refund goes to the way you paid, without you having to ask. A Family Pass we gave you for free has nothing to refund.

9. Our responsibility to you

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit or exclude. Nothing here affects your rights as a consumer under the law where you live.

If you live in the UK or the EU: we provide Tileboo with reasonable care and skill. We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use that care and skill. We are not responsible for loss or damage that was not foreseeable. We provide Tileboo for domestic and private use only, so we are not responsible for any loss of profit or business.

If you live anywhere else, including the United States: to the fullest extent the law allows, Tileboo is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the same extent, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability to you for any claim about Tileboo is limited to 100 US dollars. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

Subject to the first paragraph of this section, and wherever you live, we are not responsible for tiles or other products we don't make, or for harm caused by using Tileboo against these terms or the safety guidance in section 4.

10. Ending your use of Tileboo

You can stop using Tileboo at any time. To delete your family account and everything in it, choose Delete our family in the grown-ups area, or email us. We close an account only as section 5 describes, when no parent gives consent within 30 days of our consent email (as our Privacy Policy explains), or when the law requires it.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms for a good reason: a change in the law, a new feature, or to keep Tileboo safe. We'll update the date at the top, and for important changes we'll email account holders at least 30 days before they take effect, unless a change is needed sooner for legal or safety reasons. If you don't agree with a change, you can delete your family account before it applies.

12. The law that applies, and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of the State of Israel. If you live in the UK or the EU, you also keep the protection of your own country's mandatory consumer laws, and you can bring a claim in the courts where you live.

If something goes wrong, please email privacy@tileboo.kids first. We'll try to put it right within 30 days.

13. General

  • If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest still applies.
  • If we don't enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later.
  • If Tileboo passes to another organisation, we'll tell you, and your rights under these terms won't be reduced.
  • These terms don't give anyone else, other than you and us, any rights.
